Victoria Eye Center is proud to offer our cataract patients options when it comes to Intraocular Lenses (IOLs). Traditional cataract surgery involves replacing the lens with a Monofocal IOL, which can provide clear vision but not correct other pre-existing conditions, such as presbyopia or astigmatism.

We offer the following Lifestyle Lens options for cataract surgery:

  • PanOptix® Trifocal IOL
  • PanOptix® Trifocal Toric IOL

Watch the informational video below to learn more about choosing the right lens.

PanOptix® Trifocal IOL: A Full Range of Vision with One Lens

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved the first and only trifocal lens in the U.S. The Alcon AcrySof® IQ PanOptix® intraocular lens (IOL) is now a replacement lens option for cataract surgery patients. Victoria Eye Center is proud to offer this lens for our patients.

PanOptix is clinically shown to deliver an exceptional combination of near, intermediate and distance vision while significantly reducing the need for glasses after surgery. Most patients who choose this lens are able to read text messages on their smart phones, work on a computer and even drive without the need for glasses. This is due, in part, to ENLIGHTEN®Optical Technology, a proprietary design that optimizes intermediate vision without compromising near and distance vision.

Cataracts have a way of limiting your activities because they cause your vision to become blurry, cloudy and yellowed. Patients who live active lives may choose to upgrade their cataract surgery by choosing this trifocal lens, rather than a monofocal lens that only offers clear vision for one distance. During a cataract evaluation at our office, our cataract surgery doctors will assess your eye health and determine if this trifocal lens would be a good option for your vision.

PanOptix® Toric Trifocal IOL: A Full Range of Vision for Patients with Astigmatism

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently approved the first and only toric trifocal lens in the U.S. The Alcon AcrySof® IQ PanOptix® Toric Trifocal intraocular lens (IOL) is now a replacement lens option for cataract surgery patients who also have pre-existing astigmatism. Victoria Eye Center is proud to offer this lens to our patients.

Lifestyle IOLs are considered “premium,” which means there will be additional costs associated with these lenses. However, the benefits of being able to see without glasses after cataract surgery make this a very attractive option for many of our cataract patients. Schedule your Cataract Consultation today to learn more about your IOL options.
