Catherine Leeney, O.D.

Catherine Leeney grew up in League City, TX. She received her Bachelor of Science degree with majors in Biology and Math from the University of Calgary in Alberta. She then moved back to the states to complete her Doctorate of Optometry degree at Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee, graduating Summa Cum Laude.

Dr. Leeney completed externships at a private practice in Edmonton, Alberta focusing on treatment of ocular disease and at an ophthalmology office in Houston centered on pre and post-operative refractive and cataract surgical care. While in school, Dr. Leeney was inducted into Beta Sigma Kappa, an International Optometric Honor Society. She also held leadership positions in the American Optometric Student Association as a Local Board Member and the Low Vision club as a Treasurer.

Dr. Leeney is happy to be back in Texas to expand her optometry career. She is dedicated to providing full scope vision care to our diverse community while also educating her patients on vision conditions and recommending treatment regimens. She is knowledgeable on specialty contact lens applications and ocular disease management.

As a hard-working and passionate optometrist, Dr. Leeney enjoys working in collaborative environments and staying current with modern medicine and optometric research. She routinely attends optometry conferences and researches new techniques to provide her patients with the very latest treatments.

Dr. Leeney has a personal commitment to community service. She has provided vision care to underserved populations including homeless shelters in Memphis and Houston, rural communities in Tennessee, and a mission trip to Haiti. She looks forward to continue offering vision services to those less fortunate both abroad and locally.

Outside of optometry, Dr. Leeney enjoys playing guitar, cycling, and expanding her culinary knowledge.
